K-1 is back!!!

Goodness gracious this is exciting. I’m not going to bore you with the details of the state of K-1, financial irregularities and that sort of thing. I’m merely going to alert you to the fact that K-1 is back and kicks off it’s 2012 schedule with K-1 Rising 2012 – K-1 World Max Final 16 2012 in Los Angeles with a bumper fight card featuring some of K-1’s brightest stars.

There’s a couple of fights/fighters to look out for in particular in my humble opinion. Firstly, the return of heavyweights Daniel Ghita and K-1 bad boy Badr Hari should be entertaining, and serve as a nice preview for the K-1 Heavyweight Grand Prix that will take place later in the year.

In the K-1 Max 2012 Final 16 I’m excited to see tournament veterans Artur Kyshenko and Andy Souwer though it is a shame that Giorgio Petrosyan will not be competing, as he is without a doubt the best kickboxer in the weight class in the world.

Finally, I cant wait for the rematch between Mike Zambidis vs Chahid Oulad El Hadj. Their first fight was an epic brawl, and if their upcoming fight is even half as good, the internet will certainly be full of claims that K-1 is back for good. Video of their spectacular 1st encounter is below.
